Hello Survival Garden Seeds Team!
Thank you for reviewing my portfolio and considering me for the Contract Graphic Designer position.
Over the years, I have worked on a diverse range of design projects, honing skills that extend beyond creativity. Whether collaborating with teams of varying sizes or working independently, I have demonstrated the ability to adapt quickly and stay organized, even when priorities shift unexpectedly. Since 2020, I have also become adept at remote work, seamlessly managing time zone differences and virtual meetings.
Below, you will find examples from my portfolio that showcase my design style and expertise in layout, typography, and imagery, spanning projects from package design and magazines to campaigns and websites.
My most relevant work experience is from 2017-2020 when I worked for Designer Protein, a protein supplement marketed both in-store and on various online outlets, including their own website. One of my responsibilities as the graphic designer was to make changes to labels, route changes and approval through the team, prepare print-ready Adobe Illustrator files for print, and submit to the printer.
When priorities or direction are unclear, in any of my positions, I always seek more information. First I will look for the solution on my own and if unsuccessful, I will approach the appropriate person for clarification before starting the task or before too much time has lapsed to ensure on-time delivery.
There have been times when there has been room for improvement, whether that be a design or a process, and I’ve made a suggestion for change or, in design, done both what was asked as well as show an example of an alternative option to show a comparison. Many times, these suggestions have been well received or have been a kick-off point for a broader idea.
Tell us about a time you caught a mistake before it went to print or go live. What was the issue, and how did you catch it?
Tell us about a time you had to balance creativity with strict brand guidelines.
Describe your process for organizing design files so another designer could easily pick up where you left off.
What AI tools do you use regularly, and give one example of how they have made you a more effective designer.
I’ve always enjoyed design work that comes off the screen and into something tangible. I have definitely been influenced to purchase something simply because of beautiful packaging, and I’d love to use my skills to show the beauty in a product such as this.
If you would like to see additional examples or have any questions, please feel free to reach out. I look forward to the opportunity to discuss how my background aligns with your needs.
